Q: When was the actual formation of The Anix created? And what were your major influences upon starting the band?
I started The Anix in 2001, after my previous band broke up. We needed a singer, and although I never sang a note in my life prior to this, I gave it a shot, the outcome was absolutely terrible sounding voice with promising music hahaha. The influences that got the idea of the band off of the ground were mainly the Cure, Duran Duran, and Depeche Mode.

Q. Is there anything as a band that you can speak of, that you may regret have doing in the past?
My biggest regret is releasing so many demo songs over the internet. This kind of cheapened the name, and made it less special when we actually released an album. I should have just kept the songs to myself until I had an album ready, rather than releasing 10 different versions of the same song for fans to hear the transformation from demo, to final song.
Q. Where did you find Greg, and what about him impressed you into that final step of adding him into The Anix? WOW he is amazing, and truely gifted :).

Chris Yarber introduced me to Greg, and originally we were all going to be in The Anix together, with Greg playing a second Keyboard part. Once Chris left the band, Greg decided to stay with us, and go to war so to say, going on tour and all that. What impressed me to the point of keeping Greg, was when I watched him play on an actual piano- it is like witnessing a legend play...it is almost haunting.
Q. If you could land a tour with any band, dead or alive, what band would it be? Why?
Muse...do I really need to say why? ;)

Q. I've heard an artist is usually of many arts. Do you have any other art talents other then your music? If yes, what do they include?
Not really, I guess I draw a little, and do the majority of our graphics for the band, but thats about it.
Q. I personally have noticed many re-takes on a few of your songs. Do you consider yourself to be a perfectionist of your music, or did you just come up with better ideas you wanted to try out with where the songs were going?
I do consider myself to be a perfectionist. That being said, I truly feel disappointed in all my work thus far in my career. I feel that I have still not created what I am capable of, and it is extremely frustrating knowing this, but that is also the driving force behind our next album...

Q. Half The World away seems to me, as the most emotional in depth song on Demolition City. What inspired you to write it?

It was actually the last song I wrote on the album. We needed one more song, and it all basically came together in 2 days. I wanted something darker sounding, almost movie soundtrack style, that could be taken from a soldier at war's point of view, or an artist on the road's point of view.
Q. Does your own life tend to play into your music writting? Or does your music live a life of its own?
My life of course plays a role in our songs. Every song has a connection to something I have experienced, witnessed or been a part of.

Q. What is the most shocking thing you have seen fans do to express their love for your music?
Thats an easy one. These 3 sisters (Gina, Cece, And Theresa) all got matching tattoos of our "A" logo on their wrists. I cant even describe the feeling when they all showed me, I mean seriously, what word could I say that would do that scenario justice?? I think just remaining speechless is best :)

Q. Will we be seeing a new album in 2009? Or is this too quick to ask this?
Yep, we actually already have an album title, and will be playing some of the new songs on tour in Germany-testing them out!

Q. What are your current veiws on the election this year?
Oh wow, not sure I want to go there. hahaha. I think we are ready for a change though ;)

Q. Is there anything you would like to add?
Thank YOU India, for taking the time to write all these great questions, and for always supporting us, AND...for the great creations you make for our band!!!

See you on the road,

Brandon
