Pat checks in from Family Values while Jared is away
Few are blessed enough to be on a tour as awesome as the legendary Family Values - I feel like a little kid on Christmas morning every day walking around and seeing bands I've looked up to from childhood as they also...well...are walking around.
The past two shows have been extra cool as we have had the honor of playing our set with several guests standing in on stage left guitar in lieu of Jared's momentary absence for a family emergency. Albeit I am very sad to be without my brother in arms (he'll be back tomorrow), we've had some quality bonding with some excellent players. Charlie (Mr. Drannbauer to his 3rd graders) our esteemed guitar tech, has done a fine job covering duties on Red Sam, I'm Sorry, Sorrow, and So I Thought.
Matt from 10 Years stepped in for Cassie at the San Bernardino and Phoenix shows, and Breathe Today for the latter. Josh from Stone Sour filled in on Fully Alive and Jim Root, also of Stone Sour and Slipknot fame lent his deft touch on I'm So Sick. Our final guest was a 15 year old woman hailing from the Los Angeles area who we found whilst goofing around on YouTube - young Shea held down Breathe Today and did a fine job as her charming family watched from side stage. All in all - Family Values has been incredible. I'll report as events transpire... |
